About Outpost
Outpost is your point of contact, someone you know you can turn to at any time before or during your posting when needs and questions arise. Outpost offers information across the whole network about life in a location, and everything is created by other expat partners – people like you!
With over 60 offices staffed with Shell partners in more than 35 countries around the world, Outpost is uniquely placed to provide assistance to Shell expatriates and their families on the move. The network can provide inside information and professional services on most aspects of life abroad, and in particular, on anything related to living in specific locations where Shell is present. It was established to support Shell expatriates and their families on the move by providing a more accessible way of obtaining non-contractual advice, information and services regarding postings.
Before setting foot in a new location, you can access useful information and resources to help you decide if it has what you need, and how to obtain it. Information on schools, pre-school, housing, medical services, immigration procedures spouses wishing to work, volunteering, places of worship, pets, cultural activities and much more is available here.
Once you arrive, our volunteers have a wealth of practical information to help you settle in: an information package, maps, books and links to other Shell families who are eager and willing to help you get used to your new life. You can visit the office to browse through the information, or we can team you up with a family who have already 'been through it'
Our volunteers will attempt to contact you after your arrival and will try to answer any questions you may have. We may also be able to team you up with a family in the same area or with children of the same age. We will add your name and details to our Outpost database so that we can reach you and keep you up to date with activities.
