A good place to start is Where Calgary.

To meet women who are also new to the city try the Newcomers Club. They offer a range of activities where you get the chance to meet someone with similar interests as you.

The Chinook Club promotes and provides social and amateur recreational activities and related services for its members as well as offers a range of benefits and great networking possibilities. Give them a call at (403)-691-3358.

If you are looking for cultural activities, you can take a look at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, the Performing Arts Centre or the University of Calgary Theatre. Tickets are purchased via Ticketmaster.

If you are looking to spend a day, the Glenbow Museum, Telus World of Science, Heritage Park or the Zoo are good places to go. They are all excellent for children.

You can find even more information in the Inside Guide (please ask us for a copy if you do not have one) or at Calgary Recreation.

The Talisman Centre is a good place to start if you want to look at sport and wellness.

If you do not mind travelling outside the city, the mountains offer beautiful scenery for hikers during summer and skiers during winter.
For summer trips, take a look at: Kananaskis, Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, Waterton Lakes National Park or if you want to go south of the border Glacier National Park.
If you want to go skiing, tak a look at: Nakiska, Sunshine Village, Lake Louise, Kicking Horse or Fernie depending on how far you want to travel.
